The World Cup is just around the corner, and Miami is gearing up to host some of the most anticipated matches. But is it still worth booking a hotel room in the city? As it turns out, the answer is a bit more complex than a simple yes or no. While the average nightly rate for the Brazil vs. Scotland match on June 24 has dropped by a significant 27% compared to the peak rate, it's only 1.9% lower in the last seven days. This suggests that the market is still finding its footing, and prices may not have hit their lowest point just yet. What's more, the overall trend for the tournament as a whole is not particularly promising. Hotel bookings for five of the seven matches at Hard Rock Stadium are lower than for the same dates in 2025, with no World Cup. This is a concerning sign, especially given the lower demand than expected among international visitors. However, there are some notable exceptions. Houston has seen increases in nightly room rates for all seven matches it's hosting, with the Portugal vs. Uzbekistan match seeing a 40% price increase. Kansas City's group stage match, Ecuador vs. Curaçao, has also posted a 16% jump, with an average daily rate of $386. But what's really interesting is the performance of Philadelphia's Haiti vs. Brazil match. The nightly rate, $586, is a 30% jump from 200 days ago, making it one of the standouts in pricing growth. This is particularly fascinating given that Haiti is making its first World Cup appearance in 52 years, and Brazil has won the tournament more than any other country. So, while the overall trend for hotel prices in Miami may not be particularly encouraging, there are certainly some bright spots. The market is still finding its footing, and there are some matches that are seeing significant price increases. Ultimately, whether or not it's worth booking a hotel room in Miami for the World Cup will depend on your specific needs and preferences. But one thing is for sure: the tournament is shaping up to be an exciting and unpredictable event, and there's no shortage of stories to be told.
